'#Zakariastreet #Kolkataramzan #Dilli6 Chitpur is one of the oldest localities in Kolkata. Just beside the Nakhoda Masjid is one of the famous food destinations in the city named Zakaria Street. During Ramzan this place comes alive with various foods prepared for Iftar. On other days too it\'s a heaven for biryani, kebabs, haleem, halwa etc. Our first destination was Taskeen. This old eatery shop is famous for it\'s deep fried items. We tried Murg changezi here which is different from delhi style gravy changezi. It is basically double fried chicken with masala on the top. It costs 160 rupees for a quarter portion(8 pieces approximately). In my opinion the taste was average. Our second destination was Dilli 6. Dilli 6, an eatery specialising in delicacies from Old Delhi. We tried their famous afghani chicken. This creamy buttery grilled chicken based dish was pure love. The quarter portion(4 piece) costs 170 rupees. My recommendation would be Rumali roti alongside this. Our third destination was Al Baik. Al baik\'s most famous item is Pyare kebab. A minced chicken based dish which melts in your mouth. 30 rupees for one seekh was absolute bergain. Our fourth destination was Star biryani. A 14 year old shop which specializes only in chicken biryani. They make biryani in Kacchi style. The same style is followed in Bangladeshi biryani. I must admit this was the lightest biryani I have ever tasted. 100 rupees for a plate of this tasty biryani is a steal. Our final destination of the Zakaria street tour we went to century old Haji Allauddin sweet shop. Their sweets, especially halwas, are too renowned.
